IPBES 5

The International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IIFBES) highlighted on the importance of cultural ecosystem services and requested that IPBES organise a workshop to bring together IPLCs views and data on values and cultural ecosystem services. The IIFBES also emphasised the integral role of IPLCs in managing biodiversity and ecosystem services and the need for funding and targeted support, especially to assist with capacity-building for IPLCs during the fifth session of the plenary of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES 5) held from 7 to 10 March 2017 in Bonn, Germany.
